Cecília Porkoláb made her debut in the roles of Odette and Odile in Little Swan Lake

Cecilia Porkoláb made a fantastic debut before the audience at the last two performances of this season’s Little Swan Lake on 28th and 29th October, 2023. The graduate student of the Hungarian National Ballet Institute not only performed Odette's variation and the white pas de deux of Act II with Hungarian National Ballet corps de ballet member Luca Massara, but also Odile's entrée and the oath scene to the classical choreography of Marius Petipa. She is the first of the Hungarian State Opera's ballet students to debut in this soloist role of this youth production and in a role that has only been performed by adults so for, a task which she carried out at an outstanding technical quality, with sensitivity and great success. The 18-year-old ballet student was thus able to debut not only in a lyrical role that feels closer to her stature, but also in a more dynamic role as well. Cecília has prepared for the two extremely difficult roles with her ballet masters Dace Radina , Olga Chernakova and Dmitrij Taraszovics Kirejko. In addition to her numerous accolades, she won the Youth Grand Prix at the 2023 Hungarian Ballet Grand Prix this summer in Veszprém, Hungary.
